Barocco Foundation, in collaboration with Din l-Art Ħelwa, is pleased to present another enchanting lunchtime concert at the historic Church of Our Lady of Victory in Valletta — a venue that beautifully unites Malta’s artistic and cultural heritage. The recital will take place on Tuesday, 2 December 2025 at 12:30pm, featuring emerging soprano Daphne Camilleri accompanied by versatile pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa.
This refined programme explores the themes of love, serenity, and divine light through a selection of exquisite works from the Romantic and Classical repertoire. The concert opens with two lyrical songs by Vincenzo Bellini – Ma rendi pur contento and Vaga luna, che inargenti – whose delicate melodies evoke the moon’s gentle radiance. Jules Massenet’s graceful Le verger and Mozart’s charming Dans un bois solitaire will follow, offering elegant reflections on nature and emotion. S’altro che lacrime from La Clemenza di Tito adds a touch of operatic poignancy. A lively Galop by Schubert brings sparkle and momentum to the programme.
The second half unfolds with Donizetti’s duet Prendi, per me sei libero from L’Elisir d’Amore, filled with warmth and tenderness, before turning to the sacred beauty of Tu scendi dalle stelle by Alfonso Maria de’ Liguori and Adolphe Adam’s timeless Cantique de Noël.
Set within the intimate and beautifully restored church, this concert promises an uplifting musical experience, celebrating light, love, and the timeless elegance of vocal artistry.
