A Taste of Classics

Join us for a taste of classics during your lunchtime in Valletta with Barocco Foundation and Din l-Art Ħelwa, which are presenting a lunchtime concert on Tuesday 4th February at 12:30pm at Our Lady of Victory Church, Valletta. This recital features young soprano Cledia Micallef, accompanied by accomplished pianist Elaine Mercieca, for an elegant midday musical experience in one of Valletta’s most historic churches.

Entitled A Taste of Classics, the programme offers a varied journey through song and opera, moving from the lyrical charm of Mendelssohn, Wolf, Chausson and Amy Beach to the bel canto elegance of Bellini. A reflective highlight is Grieg’s Notturno, performed as a solo piano work by Elaine Mercieca. The recital concludes with a lively operatic selection, including arias by Bach, Mozart and Verdi, showcasing both vocal expressiveness and dramatic flair.

This lunchtime concert promises an accessible and enjoyable celebration of the classical repertoire, brought to life by two talented performers in an intimate setting.

A Taste of Classics: will be held at Our Lady of Victory church, Valletta on Tuesday 04 February 2026 at 12:30pm.
