Sip & Listen Concerts: Rhythms of Fire: Spanish Passion for Music

We are delighted to invite you to the opening evening of a new concert series- the Sip& Listen Concerts which are designed to delight the senses and bring music lovers together in an intimate, relaxed atmosphere. On Saturday 14th March 2026 at 7:30pm, join us at the beautifully restored St. Augustine Priory Apse, Old Bakery Street, Valletta, for the launch of a new series of intimate musical gatherings. This exclusive and historic space provides the perfect setting for an evening of music, atmosphere, and conviviality — with a glass of prosecco served as you settle in!

This inaugural concert features the highly talented and versatile pianist Ramona Zammit Formosa, whose artistry and expressive depth bring Spanish and South American music vividly to life. From the rhythmic fire and colour of Spain to the soulful lyricism of Latin America, this recital promises a rich and captivating journey at the piano.

The programme opens with a selection of Enrique Granados’ Danzas Españolas, evoking elegance, passion, and folkloric charm, and continues with the delicate intimacy of Mompou’s Canción y Danza. Works by Albéniz, de Falla, and Lecuona bring unmistakable Spanish flavour, while the evocative three tangos of Astor Piazzolla add warmth, nostalgia, and sensual energy to the evening.

Set within the beautiful and atmospheric St. Augustine Priory Apse in Valletta, this concert invites you to sit back, sip prosecco, and immerse yourself in an evening where music and conviviality intertwine.
