Renaissance & Baroque Guitar

A beautifully curated musical experience awaits at Our Lady of Victory Church, Valletta on Tuesday, 26 May 2026 at 12:30 PM, where classical guitarist Bernard Catania will present an evocative programme titled Renaissance & Baroque Guitar. This intimate midday concert invites audiences to step back into the sound world of the 16th to 18th centuries, celebrating the evolution of the guitar through expressive dances, lyrical variations, and timeless masterpieces.

The performance features works by Luys De Narvaez, Hans Neusidler, Antonio Vivaldi, Henry Purcell, and J.S. Bach, including beloved pieces such as Largo from Lute Concerto in D and Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desire. Catania’s refined interpretation and historical insight promise a warm and immersive musical journey.

Organized by the Barocco Foundation in collaboration with Din L-Art Ħelwa, this event offers a serene cultural escape in one of Valletta’s most treasured historic spaces. Entrance is by a €13 donation at the door.
